Tell Us How Federal Funding Changes Are Impacting Your City

May 5, 2025

To advocate effectively for cities’ needs, the League is seeking information on how cancellations and reductions to federal grants and other funding sources are affecting your city’s projects, services, and community priorities.

Recent actions by the Trump administration have resulted in cancellations, reductions, or pauses on some of the federal grants and other funding that had previously been allocated to local projects and initiatives. The League is closely tracking these developments to better understand the impacts on Minnesota cities. We are committed to providing updated information as more details emerge through resources like our Executive Orders and Actions FAQs webpage.

We understand that some cities have received direct communication from the federal government regarding the status of their funding. To advocate effectively for cities’ needs, we are collecting information on how these changes are impacting your city’s projects, services, and community priorities.

Please fill out a brief form at lmc.org/impactsform to share any information you have received and describe the potential or actual effects on your city. Specific examples — such as impacts on infrastructure projects, public safety programs, housing initiatives, or other critical services — will be invaluable in strengthening our advocacy efforts on your behalf.

Your input is critical as we work to represent and support cities during this period of uncertainty. If you have any questions or would prefer to discuss this directly, please contact the League’s Research Department at [email protected].
