With the opening of cannabis businesses beginning in Minnesota, the Office of Cannabis Management will provide an update on where things stand and the role of local governments. In addition to private businesses starting cannabis operations, more than a dozen cities in Minnesota applied for a license to operate their own municipal dispensary. A representative from one of those cities will provide an overview on the city’s decision to move forward with municipal cannabis operations.

Since taking office in January, the Trump Administration has attempted to put in motion significant changes to federal government operations through executive orders and federal agency actions. Presenters from the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office will provide an overview of the most significant legal issues affecting state and local governments arising from recent federal action. They will also discuss their litigation and policy strategies developed in response to those actions.
